ZHGAS Invited to Shandong Province Resource Utilization Technology Matchmaking Conference

Recently, CAS Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter ZHGAS) was invited to attend the Shandong Province Resource Utilization Technology Matchmaking Conference. Jointly organized by the Environmental Development Center of MEE (Science and Technology Achievement Transformation and Industrial Promotion Center) and the Shandong Provincial Academy of Environmental Planning, the conference featured opening speeches by Sun Yuheng (Level-III Investigator, Solid Waste and Chemicals Division, Shandong Ecology and Environment Department) and Jiang Qi (Deputy Director, Environmental Development Center of MEE).

At the conference, Liu Lu, Deputy Director of ZHGAS’s R&D Department, detailed the company’s core technologies and business focus, highlighting the "Sludge Carbonization for Low-Calorific Biofuel Technology". This process carbonizes dewatered sludge under anaerobic or oxygen-deficient conditions, converting organic components into small-molecule hydrocarbons via dry distillation and thermal decomposition. Outputs include non-condensable gases and low-calorific biomass fuels. The non-condensable gases are combusted to generate high-temperature flue gas, which supplies heat for sludge drying. Targeting municipal sludge from wastewater plants, industrial sludge, and other solid wastes with calorific value, this energy-saving technology resolves sludge pollution with low capital investment,high detoxification efficiency, and significant waste reduction/resource recovery, offering strong applicability and economic viability.

During the matchmaking session, technology demand-side entities engaged in deep discussions with ZHGAS and six other technology providers, exploring technical innovations, process designs, and application outcomes to identify collaboration opportunities.

In July this year, the sludge carbonization technology was included in the National Eco-Environment Achievements Transformation Platform, affirming its industrial potential. As an advanced eco-technology, it will be prioritized by the Environmental Development Center for nationwide promotion and commercialization. This conference is part of such efforts.

Moving forward, ZHGAS will continue monitoring solid/hazardous waste industry trends, aligning R&D with policy demands. By integrating technologies, optimizing systems, and advancing engineering solutions, it will deploy diversified waste treatment and resource recovery technologies across sectors, delivering actionable solutions for waste generators.
